Community - Calling - Caring

Everything we do, and all that we are, hinges on the reality of the Gospel, therefore…

Our MISSION is...

  • To be a COMMUNITY in Christ’s image

  • To embrace our CALLING as new creations in Christ

  • To CARE for one another and others as we share the Gospel and serve as Christ

Our VISION is...

  • We commit to being and gathering as a COMMUNITY formed in Christ’s image to reflect God’s glory
  • We commit to embracing our CALLING as new creations in Christ for the sake of God’s kingdom
  • We commit to CARING for one another and others as we share the Gospel and serve as Christ to bring glory to God

Everything we do, and all that we are, hinges on the reality of the Gospel...

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

~ Ephesians 2:8-10

We commit to do this... (COMMUNITY)

Just as God exists in community – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – so, too, He created us to live and be in community.  While each one of us is a child of God, together we are the family of God and the body of Christ.  We will use our gifts, talents, resources, time, and abilities to help and support one another, this body, and the work of the Kingdom.  We will share our burdens and celebrate our blessings, and we will live lives of love and forgiveness toward one another.

  ~1 Corinthians 12:27; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 3:13-14

We commit to look... (CALLING)

Just as God called the Israelites to remember what He had done for them, we also remember what God has done throughout history, the core truths of the Christian faith from a Lutheran perspective (e.g. Apostles’ Creed, Nicene Creed, The Book of Concord), and how God has shaped us into His Church today.

~Exodus 20:2; 1 Peter 2:9-10

We hold onto the promise of life in the world to come, yet we are still on a journey today.  So we will forge ahead answering God’s call, daring to take risks, and willing to ask questions.  We will trust the Holy Spirit’s guidance and be obedient to God’s Word, while embracing change, creativity, and imagination.

~John 16:12-15; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Hebrews 11; 1 John 2:25

We commit to... (CARING)

Look Up

We acknowledge and celebrate the presence of God in the world, the life that is ours through Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives.  We will live in humble gratitude toward God as we worship together, regularly hearing His Word and receiving and celebrating the sacraments, and in our daily lives.

~Hebrews 10:24-25

Reach Out

We will follow the example that Jesus gave us and obey His commands as we partner with Him to be change agents in this world.  We will share His message of grace and hope through our words and our actions as He transforms the world through us.

~Matthew 28:18-20; 1 John 2:3-6
